Bike Club London

Non-traditional bike clubs focusing more on the joy, comraderie and skills and less on lycra and bike nerdery. Activities include Velodrome, BMX, Track, Mountain Biking, skills sessions and road rides.

Wanting to see a more diverse group of young people enjoying cycling and bikes not just as sport, we run our Bike Clubs from our Burgess Park base in South East London and Snodland, Kent.

Our bike clubs are non-traditional and celebrate cycling in it’s many forms, from mountain biking, park cycling, BMX, wheelie riders to gentle rides with mates or more challenging adventure rides. Partnering with local youth clubs 2 Inspire, Step Out Mentoring and Salus Youth Group to name a few, we offer opportunities to try many different cycling activities while being coached or led on rides by a diverse group of leaders.

At our Burgess Bike Club, bike ownership was a real barrier for young people cycling so we offer pool bikes to neatly sidestep this issue. People often wrongly assume that a young person who doesn’t own a bike doesn’t want to ride. It is more likely an issue with the cost of ownership or a lack of safe or convenient storage.

Running skills sessions to increase on-bike confidence and build bonds between riders, we offer ‘Try It’ sessions at Herne Hill Velodrome, Mountain biking trips to the trails around Snodland and Bedgebury Forest in Kent, Discovery rides across the city, BMX sessions on the Burgess Track, home to the famous Peckham BMX Club as well as discussions on long distance bikepacking.
